Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Police report they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The substance had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then located many other smeared cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report early analysis show the liquid was probably human blood.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; investigators are currently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the incident," they added.
Municipal representatives said they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the community for tips.
A senior official stated the attack made him speechless and had to be resolved quickly.
"This act affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a assailant targeting people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
