Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has increased strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy died and several individuals were injured.

The assaults follow nights of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with assaults already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
